Elizabeth recently posted about the ever cool and reusable SIGG bottles, which are nearly indestructible and much more intelligent than the old plastic water bottle. There is another innovation in the disposable H2O container industry: The paper water bottle.
The 360 paper bottle is a concept product designed by Brandimage, a company that creates packaging for all kinds of fun stuff. The bottle is made from (and I’ll quote the creators here) “…sustainable sheet stock of bamboo, palm leaves, etc. that is pressed into 2 halves to encapsulate a micro-thin PLA”. What is PLA? Polylactic acid, or polylactide, is a biodegradable, thermoplastic, aliphatic polyester derived from renewable resources such as corn starch or sugarcane. Heavy. But cool.
So when will we see paper bottles stocked on the shelves of Walgreens and Tom Thumbs nationwide? We shall see… For now, stick to your SIGG, but here’s some contact info if you just can’t wait to find out:
